Court orders FIR against three officials of insurance co

Indore : A local court here on Tuesday directed to book three officials of Oriental Insurance Company including a deputy manager Vijay Kumar Kannojia and to issues arrest warrant against them in an embezzlement case took place in 2010.

Additional session judge Jitendra Singh Kushwaha register an FIR against Kannojia and two other officials Prakash Ahuja and Deep Gundewar under section 409.

According to information Ravi Kumar Poddar had filed petition stating that in year 2010 Kannojia was branch manager of city office number of 5 of Oriental Insurance Company when he collected Rs 37500 for renewal of medical claim policy of one Devendra Mugda through agent Kamalchand Kataria.

Entry of collected amount was made by cashier Prakash Ahuja and then branch manager Kannojia but they do not issue the medi- claim policy and pocketed the money thinking that seldom claim for medical purposes is made.

But to their bad luck in this case, a demand for mediclaim came in.

To hide their misdeed, the accused officials issued policy in back date and passed a claim of Rs 74000 to Mugda.

Interestingly, during the internal audit this corrupt practice was caught but the case was swept under the carpet. But Poddar did not want the corrupt officials to go scot free so moved court.

Social activist filed a petition against several senior official of the insurance company but absence of evidence senior official were acquitted and booked three accused.
