Indore : A couple sustained serious injuries when their scooter went over steel pipes scattered all over the road and skidded off the road. Apparently the pipes were being ferried when they got loose and scattered.

According to the police, the accident occurred on Hatod road. Shantilal Prajapat, resident of Ganganagar told the police that he and his wife Manju were on their way to Hatod on their Activa scooter on December 10.

A jeep was in front of them with steel pipes tied on the top. Suddenly the pipes broke free and scattered all over the road. The couple behind the vehicle had no chance to stop their scooter and it went over the pipes, causing it to skid and fall.

The couple sustained serious injuries on their heads and bodies and were rushed to MY hospital in an ambulance by other commuters while the jeep driver fled the scene. Hatod police have registered cases against the jeep driver and a search is on for the driver and jeep.
