Corrections can be made in UID cards

Indore: Even after three years, the government woke up from its slumber and made provision for corrections and necessary changes in the Unique Identity ( UID) Card. This provision was not available until recently. UID card popularly known as Aadhar card are being issued to citizens throughout the country. In Indore, lakhs of cards have been issued to the residents.

However, close to three percent cards are stuck due to corrections or changes required in them. Until recently, there was no provision to make corrections or changes in the card but now this facility is available and will benefit many. From now on corrections and changes will be made in UID cards just like in Voters ID card. Any one wishing to make corrections and changes would need to log on to website uidai. gov. in and download the correction form. After filling the form and mentioning the old 12 digit card number the same has to be forwarded to headquarters in New Delhi along with copy of old card by the registered post.

The form will contain details such as name, surname, address, phone number, date of birth etc and will be available in several languages. The forms will have to be filled up in legible letters, preferably capital letters with correct date of birth and old 12 digit card number. made in UID cards
