Ujjain: Huge turnout was seen at the vaccination centres as the administration resumed the exercise after a gap of about a week on Wednesday. A total of 27,185 people were administered vaccine on the day. So far, 8,24,267 people have been administered first dose of anti-corona vaccine in the district. A total of 1,59,124 people have been administered second dose of vaccine. The district vaccination officer Dr KC Parmar has declared that vaccination will remain suspended for four days beginning July 15 in wake of non-availability of vaccine.
With no person testing Corona positive on Wednesday, the tally remained on 19,092. The toll is 171.
As per health bulletin issued at 9.15 pm, out of 1,801 sample reports no case of Corona positive patient was reported from anywhere in the district including Ujjain City, Nagda, Mahidpur, Ghattia, Khachrod, Barnagar and Tarana. Only one active patient is getting treatment. Samples of 3,88,881 persons have been taken across the district so far and no report is awaited. The total number of discharged patients is 18,920.
Haat-bazaar resumes
As soon as the second wave of Covid-19 started in the month of March, the administration had banned the Haat-Bazaars. Haat-bazaar was not allowed even after unlocking started in June. Due to this, the traders doing business in Haat-Bazaar were very upset. They were demonstrating continuously and were demanding to start Haat-Bazaar. Due to this, law and order situation was also being created in some areas of the city. ADM Narendra Suryavanshi issued order to start Haat-bazaar and with this order, haat-Bazaar also started in Nagarkot Mata temple complex on Wednesday. However, physical distancing norm was not fully followed there. Haat-bazaars are held at different places in Ujjain for seven days. More than 500 traders are associated with it. They were sitting at home for the last four months. They were facing a lot of problems in earning their livelihood.
