Cop in Lok Ayukta net taking bribe

Indore: The Lok Ayukta Police, on Tuesday, caught an Assistant Sub-Inspector, posted at Bhikangaon Police Station in Khargone district, accepting bribe. According to Lok Ayukta police, a bus belonging to Patil Bus Service met with an accident near Bhikangaon.

Bhikangoan police had registered a case and seized the bus. The case was being handed by Mithilesh Mishra, ASI, Bhikangoan Police Station. Mishra allegedly demanded Rs 5,000 from Azam Pathan, who is supervisor of Patil Bus Service, for preparing and submitting the chalan to the court at the earliest.

After negotiation, the deal was finalised at Rs 3000 and Pathan was summoned to the police station on May 13, 2014 to conclude the deal. However, a complaint was lodged with Lok Ayukta police, which laid a trap to nab the cop, and accordingly a team of Lok Ayukta Police nabbed Mishra while accepting bribe of Rs 3000. Mishra has been booked under Sections 7, 13 (1) (d), 13 (2) of Anti Corruption Act.
