City students come out with flying colours

Indore : Students of Indore emerged with flying colours in the common entrance test (2014) results of which were announced by the Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) on Thursday. The results were announced a week after the test which was conducted on May 29. Of the four groups in which professional courses of the DAVV were divided, two groups saw toppers from the city while one group each has topper from Gwalior and Rajgarh.

Harshdeep Singh (169 marks) and Akrashi Patni of Indore (175 marks) topped Group B and Group C respectively while Amit Goyal (153 marks) of Gwalior emerged as topper of Group A and Pratha Shrivastava (125 marks) of Group D.

Following different nature of courses in the Group C, the DAVV announced three toppers from the group. While Akrashi Patni was topper from biotechnology stream, Akhilesh Jain and Ashish Jain were declared toppers from Maths and Biology group.  Registration process for the CET counselling would begin on June 7. The first phase of the counselling will be held from June 19 to 24.

It is to be noted that the CET is a national-level test conducted every year by the DAVV for admission in professional courses offered eight of its teaching departments viz IMS, IIPS, School of Commerce, School of Economics, EMRC, School of Pharmacy, School of Journalism and Mass Communication and School of Law. This year CET was conducted for admission on 1785 seats. As many as 16067 candidates had appeared in the CET.
