At 2: 55 pm, the CM would launch the Abhiyan under which the government provides 24 hours power supply for domestic use in urban and rural areas. With the launch of the campaign, uninterrupted 247 power supply would be available in the entire district.

The government has covered 48 out of 50 districts in the State under the campaign so far. The remaining two districts of Sagar and Indore would also be brought under the campaign on Wednesday.

The Abhiyan first would be launched in Sagar and then in Indore. Indore would be the last district to be covered under the scheme.

The State Government has spent Rs 105.83 crore in Indore district under the scheme. It has carried out segregation work at all the 234 feeders in the district due to which 637 villages would be benefited.

Shameful, says Congress

Describing the nagrik samman of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan as ‘ shameful’, the Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee ( MPCC) said that the CM should have avoided such samman samaroh given the fact that many residents of the State died and several others were missing in the flood- hit Uttrakhand.

“ It’s really shameful,” PCC spokesman Narendra Saluja said. He also blasted the BJPled State Government saying that it’s fooling the state people with Atal Jyoti Abhiyan.

“ The government should go back and see that there is no round the clock power supply where the campaign is launched. The BJP- led Government, which was voted to power on the false promise of resolving electricity woes has failed on the front completely. Even after nine years in power, the government could not resolve the electricity woes,” Salulja alleged.
