Indore : Candidates took the Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) on Sunday at centres in the City found the test moderate and doable.
The students said that the first yearly CMAT 2016, which is a gateway to MBA courses offered by around 400 b-schools in the country, did not throw any surprise.
“Logical Reasoning and General Awareness sections were more difficult than Quant and Language Comprehension but the overall exam was doable,” Amit Mishra, a student said.
Reading comprehension passages in CMAT 2016 were followed by more reasoning type questions, while Quant contained more Algebra, Geometry and Arithmetic. Logical Reasoning questions consumed more time to solve while questions in Data Interpretation in Quant section also consumed more time than Quant questions.
Questions on General Awareness were also found tricky but those who prepared GK well especially related to all the spheres could attempt it better.
The computer-based CMAT held between 9.30 am and 12.30 pm by and large remained glitches free on the technical front.
questions divided in 4 sections
CMAT 2016 contained 100 questions divided in 4 sections with 25 questions in each section on Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation; Logical Reasoning; Language Comprehension and General Awareness. All the questions carried equal weightage of maximum 4 marks each with 1/4 negative marking for every wrong answer. A raw score of 175 marks out of maximum 400 in CMAT 2016 could secure a call from good B-school for MBA/PGDM 2016-18 batch.
