Barwani (Madhya Pradesh): Delighted over its success in Julwaniyain in the recently concluded Rajpur janpad polls, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday took out a victory rally in Julwaniya village in Sendhwa tehsil of Barwani District. During the rally, some members allegedly targeted Congress’s district party office, pelting stones at it.
Agitated congress workers along with district president Virendra Singh Darbar marched to Julwaniya police station to mark their protest against the incident and urged appropriate action against hooligans.
Giving further details, Darbar said that a handful of BJP workers attacked the party office during the rally and misbehaved with party workers.
Thousands of Congress party workers on Sunday marched to the police station to protest and handed over an application to Rajpur SDOP Rohit Alawa urging him to register a case and sought police protection.
For the sake of peace and tranquillity in the region, a police contingent has been deployed to avoid any untoward clashes. Alawa said that investigation has been initiated in this matter. Appropriate action would be taken as per facts that come forth during the investigation.
