Shot on head with service revolver
Indore: Panic prevailed among police officials on Thursday when an Assistant Sub- Inspector posted in Sanyogitaganj police station committed suicide by shooting himself with the service revolver at the police station. His colleagues rushed him to the hospital but he succumbed to bullet injuries.
As per information, ASI Phool Singh Pal ( 58), a resident of Tukoganj Police Lines, committed suicide by shooting himself on the head. Other cops posted in the police station informed the media persons that the ASI had come to the police station on 3 pm. “ After few minutes, he shot himself while sitting on the chair in an investigation room. We rushed him to the hospital and informed the senior officers about the incident. Phool Singh succumbed to injuries during treatment after an hour of the incident,” cops said.
Sources said that the ASI was under depression since last few days. He did not talk to anyone after coming to duty. Sources further said that he had left home at around 11 am. Sanyogitaganj police station incharge DS ewale said that Phool Singh had also visited the police kiosk at Navlakha and after resting there he returned to the police station.
“ We have started registering statements of his family members and launched an investigation on the case,” ewale said. The deceased was hails from Jalaun district of Uttar Pradesh. He was earlier posted at Tukoganj, MG Road and later transferred to Sanyogitaganj police station in 2011. He was a honest and brave police officer and was promoted to ASI from Head Constable due to his commendable work, he said. Phool Singh is survived by three daughters and a son.
