Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A national workshop celebrating the 300th birth anniversary of Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar was held at the Prime Minister College of Excellence, Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government Arts and Commerce College. The event took place on Friday in the Kalam Hall, highlighting the queen’s unmatched leadership and strategic wisdom.

Chief guest Colonel Meera Siddharth Dave said, “Winning wars doesn’t always require fighting. Ahilyabai Holkar defeated enemies without raising a sword. The same principle was followed in Operation Sindoor.”

She stressed that knowing one’s enemy starts with understanding one’s own nation. She also warned that enemies today may exist not just on borders but on social media and within society, including traffickers and cyber-criminals.

Holkar royal descendant Shrimant Uday Singh Raje Holkar urged students to pair knowledge with humility, stating, “Life must be both successful and meaningful.” Dr Mala Singh Thakur emphasised that women empowerment is rooted in Indian culture, citing examples like Ahilyabai and Rani Lakshmibai.

College principal Dr Mamta Chandrashekhar shared that year-long events such as essay writing and debates were organised to spread awareness about Ahilyabai’s life. The programme concluded with prize distribution and a vote of thanks by professor Sunita Malviya.
