It took nearly 20 months for the ministry of human resource development (MHRD) to appoint board chairman in this elite B-school.

The appointment is necessitated after veteran banker KV Kamath and chairman of IIM Indore board had resigned from the post in June 2015.

Kamath had tendered stepped down as chairman of IIM Indore after he was appointed chief of the New Development Bank of BRICS nations.
