Lucknow: Youth Congress in Uttar Pradesh has come up with an innovative idea of holding a quiz on a FM radio channel to popularise its policies and history among the people and is offering movie tickets to the winners everyday.

“A brainchild of Indian Youth Congress (IYC) secretary and incharge of Uttar Pradesh, Srinivas and the state committee, two questions each are asked in the time slot of 3-4.30 PM daily on party’s history, policies, leaders besides some on sports and general knowledge,” said IYC spokesman Avneesh Shukla.

After an overwhelming response to the programme, which is on air since August 18, the IYC now plans to expand it to other cities like Varanasi, Agra, Meerut among others so as to ensure that the entire state is covered, he added.

An inter college quiz is also on the cards and the winners of which would be announced on Gandhi Jayanti (October 2), who would get laptops as prizes.

For financing the campaign, office bearers have made monetary contributions voluntarily, Shukla said.

With the party lying low after the debacle in recent Lok Sabha elections, the quiz is aimed at generating interest among the people, specially the youth which is the listener of FM radio, towards the party and see to it that its policies remain relevant in the eyes of the people, he added.
