A shocking incident has emerged from Gaya district, Bihar, where a village doctor was tied to a tree and brutally beaten while bystanders watched. The accused allegedly thrashed Dr Jitendra Yadav so severely that he was left bloodied and injured. The incident occurred under Fatehpur police station limits.

The victim, a resident of Jhurang village in the Gurpa police station area, was allegedly assaulted by villagers. His family has accused the villagers of attacking him, claiming that the doctor was targeted for helping a rape victim's mother.

A video of the incident has gone viral on social media, showing a blood-soaked man tied to a tree as onlookers stand by. A policeman is seen untying him while villagers watch like spectators.

Upon receiving information, Dial 112 police rescued the injured doctor and rushed him to the hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment.

Villagers, however, allege that the doctor was caught in a compromising position inside a woman’s house, leading to the assault. Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation.

The doctor’s family claims the attack was premeditated, while villagers insist he was caught in an objectionable situation. Several locals are being questioned.

The incident has taken a political turn, with RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav sharing the video on social media and targeting the Bihar government.

"The situation in Bihar is worse than the Taliban. A doctor who went to treat a rape survivor’s mother in Gaya was tied to a tree, beaten, and left drenched in blood by the accused," Yadav stated.

"After 20 years of corrupt NDA rule, the police and administration are utterly incapable of preventing crime, arresting criminals, or delivering justice. As a result, people are taking the law into their own hands. Bihar is in chaos—the CM is unconscious, the government is intoxicated, officers and ministers are busy looting the treasury, and governance is in shambles," he added.
