India Today journalist Aishwarya Paliwal shared a terrifying experience late Thursday night in a social media post about an incident in Central Delhi.

In the post, Aishwarya claimed that a man wearing a helmet on a two-wheeler began inching closer to her car and insisted she roll down her window while she had stopped to switch on her GPS around 10 pm on Thursday.

The journalist said she felt something was amiss and found the man’s insistence unsettling. Fearing something untoward, she released the handbrake and sped away as the man attempted to block her path.

After fleeing the scene, she noticed in her rearview mirror that the biker was chasing her.

"He brought his scooter right next to my car in an attempt to block my way, I sped away and in the rear view mirror I could see him following me till some distance. His insistence on asking me to roll down my window was creepy and scary, don't ever do that!" she wrote.

Paliwal stated that the incident left her shaken and urged other women to be cautious of strangers approaching them, even if they are inside their own cars.

Days after the incident, the Delhi Police responded to Paliwal's post, stating, "Taking suo moto cognizance of the matter, an inquiry was conducted, and the person was traced."

According to the police, after thorough interrogation, it was found that the man, a native of Uttarakhand, had lost his way.

The police revealed that the man did not have his mobile phone with him and was seeking assistance to find his way home.
