Kolkata: Amidst speculation that Leader of Opposition (LoP) Suvendu Adhikari might be given equal importance as that of party chief Dilip Ghosh, the BJP sources on Sunday said that during the closed door meeting of the party’s working committee on June 29, the BJP leaders will raise the issue of giving equal importance to LoP to strengthen the party in West Bengal.
“BJP is mainly controlled by the party chief. Now breaking the tradition in order to strengthen the party more we will demand to portray Suvendu as an equally important face as that of Dilip Ghosh. BJP national president JP Nadda will also be present virtually to review the recently concluded poll results and we will give the proposal there,” mentioned the sources.
Notably, in an exclusive interview with FPJ, West Bengal BJP chief Dilip Ghosh had said that if Suvendu’s power rises in the party then it will be beneficial for the party.

Meanwhile, at a time when LoP Suvendu is leaving no stones unturned to disqualify the MLA post of TMC leader Mukul Roy, Mukul on Sunday challenged Suvendu to make his father and TMC MP Sisir Adhikari to join the saffron camp.
Incidentally, election agents of Mukul Roy along with BJP leader Arup Roy from Krishnanagar (north) on Sunday had joined ruling Trinamool Congress under Mukul Roy.
At a time when BJP is gearing up to make the party stronger, the TMC youth wing in order to create more mass connect is forming Quick Response Teams at every district to tackle any untoward incident in the state.
