Kolkata: A day after Bollywood actor and BJP leader Mithun Chakraborty visited Kolkata and addressed the media and said that he has been given a certain role by the central leaders, TMC spokesperson and state general secretary Kunal Ghosh slammed Chakraborty and asked him to ‘apologize’ to TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee.
“I have heard that Mithun da has been crying in front of central leaders to give him a post. When Didi nominated him for Rajya Sabha he said that he will never forget the gesture of Mamata Banerjee. Then he had backstabbed Didi, he should first apologize to her,” slammed Ghosh.
Taking further potshots at the BJP, Ghosh stated that the state BJP leaders have failed to deliver for which the party central leaders have once again started sending ‘migratory’ leaders.
“Mithun Da along with his party has failed to win over Bengal. If Mithun Da continues in this manner then whatever fame he has as an actor in the hearts of people of Bengal he will lose even that. The person who cannot stay in a particular place for five years cannot be trusted. Soon after Enforcement Directorate (ED) grilled him he defected to BJP to safeguard himself,” further added Ghosh.
It can be noted that Chakraborty after a year visited Kolkata on Monday and said that he has been given some responsibilities by the central leaders for which he visited Kolkata.
On Tuesday, Chakraborty was seen shooting for a Bengali film with TMC MP Deepak Adhikari (Dev) and refused to comment on political issues stating that an actor doesn’t have any political ‘color’.
BJP national vice president Dilip Ghosh said that Chakraborty was ‘forced’ to leave Kolkata after he was slapped with ‘false’ cases by Trinamool Congress after the Assembly polls last year.
