Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday had expressed her doubt on ‘health issues’ to be the reason for Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar to resign from his post.

While launching a state government programme, ‘Ammader Para, Aamader shamadhan’ (Our locality, our solution), Mamata when asked about Dhankhar calls him a ‘healthy man’.

“I don't want to make any comment about this. Let’s see what happens. He is a healthy man. I think his health is absolutely okay,” said Mamata.

Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Kunal Ghosh also expressed his ‘curiosity’ over the actual reason for Dhankhar’s resignation.

CPI (M) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya also smelled something ‘fishy’ over Dhankhar’s resignation.

“This cannot happen as we know he is not that ill for which he will resign from his post. He is a RSS man and I think some other game is behind his resignation,” added Bhattacharya.
