Kolkata: After West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee moved Calcutta High Court demanding recounting of Nandigram seat where she lost to BJP’s Suvendu Adhikari, a fleet of other leaders also moved the court for recounting at their seats.
On Saturday, BJP candidate of Jalpaiguri constituency Soujit Singha said that he will also move the Calcutta High Court demanding recounting of his seat after he had lost to TMC candidate.
“I am 100% sure that if recounting will be done then results will be different,” said Singha.
Notably, West Bengal BJP chief Dilip Ghosh had earlier said that he will move the Supreme Court demanding recounting of at least 50 constituencies.
It is pertinent to mention that earlier last month, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had moved the court challenging the electoral results of Nandigram seat in the recently concluded Assembly polls.
After Justice Kaushik Chanda was assigned for this case, the TMC then wanted a change of the Justice as the same person Kaushik Chanda was seen attending a program of BJP IT cell a year ago.
However, BJP chief rubbished the connection of Justice Kaushik Chanda with the saffron camp.
