A video of a shocking incident has surfaced online, showing a group of women in traditional attire, flanked by a crowd of men and children, dancing on the road when a speeding Maruti Ecco car rammed into them.
According to reports, the incident took place in the Sikandara Thana area of Uttar Pradesh's Agra, where women were dancing during a wedding event.
The joyful laughter and dancing turned into screams as the speeding vehicle, coming from behind, struck the women dancers.
According to reports, more than six people were severely injured in the accident.
The driver of the vehicle fled the scene, according to local reports.
The Agra Police Commissionerate has responded to the viral video and directed the Sikandra Station House Officer (SHO) to take necessary action. The police have launched a hunt for the driver.
Notably, last week, four pedestrians, who were out for a morning walk, were crushed to death after a speeding Max vehicle loaded with mangoes overturned on the Shahdara flyover in Agra’s Trans-Yamuna area. The driver also sustained serious injuries.
