Chittorgarh: A rather bellicose Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing an election rally in Chittorgarh, has said that India too has nuclear options, which can be exercised if the need arises. “India has stopped getting scared of Pakistan’s threats.

Every other day they used to say that they have a nuclear button, but what do we have then? Have we kept it for Diwali? (Warna aay din nuclear button hai, ye kehte the. Hamare paas kya hai? Ye Diwali ke liye rakha hai kya?),’’ Modi demanded. “We have the capacity to strike a nuclear attack from water, land and sea,” he added.

PM Modi also said his government had crushed the spirit of Pakistan and “forced the neighbouring country to go around the world with a begging bowl.” “Hamne Pakistan ki sari hekdi nika di. Use katora leke dunia me ghumne ko mene majboor kar diya hai,” he said, referring to the financial hardship the nation is facing.

Attacking the Congress and other opposition parties, he said: “They think terrorism and national security are not the issues to be discussed. They say that Modi should not talk of Indian honour and valour. Why? Am I here to attend a Bhajan Mandali (hymn singing session)?” Modi also accused the Congress of squandering the advantage after the 1971 war with Pakistan by giving back the land it had won as well returning 90,000 captured Pakistanis soldiers.

“At that time, the Kashmir problem could have been discussed and resolved. However, the Congress government buckled under global pressure. Had Modi been there, he would never have lost this opportunity,” he said.
