Vrindavan: While the devotees from far plan to visit a glimpse of Premanad Maharaj and prepare for the padyatra, women of the NRI Green Colony came out on the road with placards in protest against the night walk with the disciples of Premanand Maharaj.

The Night Padyatra Demonstration

Premanand Maharaj departs for Shri Radhakali Kunj with his followers at 2 o'clock in the night. Throughout this period, numerous followers line both sides of the street to catch a glimpse of him. Even during the night, the setting appears like daytime. Devotees sing and dance to bhajans and also set off fireworks in the street.

Why Are Women Against The Padyatra?

The NRI colony is along the path of this padyatra. The women in this colony claim that their sleep is disrupted at night because of Premanand Maharaj's padyatra, which causes noise from firecrackers and bhajans. In the homes, there are also ill and aged individuals, and numerous women educate at school.

Such noise during the night disrupts their sleep, preventing them from attending school in the morning. The women have requested that Saint Premanand Maharaj cease this padyatra for the benefit of the local residents.

Premanand Maharaj's Ashram Responds

The Ashram of Premanand Maharaj posted a declaration regarding the protest from the colony residents that Premananda or his ashram is not associated with those who gather on the roadside to sing bhajans and set off fireworks during the padayatra. The ashram has repeatedly prohibited these individuals from using loudspeakers to play bhajans. The ashram requests that no noise pollution be created during the padyatra.
