The three accused - Victor, Baboolal, and Rakesh - were allegedly under the influence of ganja when they reportedly attacked a police constable. Following this, police officers took the youths to Aithanagar area where they administered what has been described as a brutal roadside beating.

Video footage of the incident, which has since surfaced on social media, shows uniformed police officers taking turns to beat the youths with lathis (batons), particularly targeting their legs and the soles of their feet. The assault took place in full public view with numerous bystanders witnessing the event.

While police claim the youths attacked Constable Chiranjeevi while under the influence of drugs, the accused present a different version of events.
