A disturbing video showing the brutal assault of a young man has gone viral on social media. The incident reportedly took place in the Awas Vikas Chowk area under the jurisdiction of Kotwali City Police Station in UP's Bijnor.
In the video, a group of men can be seen flogging the youth with a belt while the victim pleads for mercy.
The identity of the victim has not been established yet. The reason why the youth was thrashed remains unknown.
After the video went viral, police took cognisance of the incident and said that an FIR has been filed under the relevant sections, and further investigation is ongoing.
