A shocking video has surfaced from Tamil Nadu’s Walajabad, showing school students hanging from the windows of an overcrowded state transport bus, putting their lives at risk. The viral footage has sparked outrage among social media users, with many describing it as a regular occurrence and demanding additional buses during peak hours.

According to reports, the video was recorded a few days ago. The bus seen in the footage was travelling from Kanchipuram via Walajabad to various villages, including Thirumukkudal, Madhur, Anambakkam, Padur, and Neyyadivakam. Government buses on routes D36, D81, and D55 operate along this stretch, transporting students to educational institutions in Walajabad and Kanchipuram.

Passengers have repeatedly raised concerns about students engaging in dangerous behaviour, such as hanging from the bus steps while the vehicle is moving. Even when buses are not crowded, many students continue to cling perilously to the steps. In more extreme cases, some attempt to climb onto the roof. When challenged by the driver or conductor, they briefly pretend to board properly before resuming their risky stance.

Rather than complying, the students often argue with bus staff who attempt to intervene. Their reckless actions—dangling from the steps with their feet nearly scraping the ground—leave fellow passengers terrified.

In response, commuters are urging police to increase patrols along key routes, particularly near Walajabad, Puliyampakkam, Palayaseevaram, and Thirumukkudal, to prevent students from hanging off buses, shouting, and causing disturbances.
