The Indian Army and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) successfully airlifted a nine-year-old boy who had become trapped in a river during flash floods in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district.

Upon being alerted, Army personnel, SDRF teams, local police and civilian divers launched a coordinated rescue operation to save the child from the rapidly rising floodwaters.

Dramatic footage of the operation has emerged online, showing the boy being winched to safety by an Army helicopter.

According to reports, the boy was grazing cattle when sudden flash floods left him stranded mid-river. Rescuers required three hours to successfully extract the trapped child.

"The swift response and effective coordination between all agencies led to this successful rescue operation," an official stated, noting the challenging conditions.
