Meerut, February 17: A shocking theft incident has come to light from Lisadi village in Meerut, where thieves stole 400 pigeons from the terrace of a house. The victim, who has been raising and selling pigeons for the past 20 years, said that the stolen pigeons were worth more than ₹10 lakh. A video of the aftermath of the incident has surfaced on social media and it can be seen in the video that the owner of the birds is showing the empty cages where the pigeons were kept.
How the Theft Happened?
According to the pigeon owner, the thieves used a ladder to reach the terrace and steal the birds. The exact method of the trick of how the robbers were able to steal the birds without making any noise is still unclear, but it is suspected that the thieves used some special technique or tool to gain access.
The theft came to light when the owner went to feed the pigeons in the morning and found all the cages empty. The thieves managed to carry away hundreds of birds without making much noise, leaving the owner in shock.
Police Investigation Underway
The Lisadi Gate Police Station has registered the case and started an investigation in connection with the matter. Police officials are scanning CCTV footage from nearby areas to find clues about the thieves.
A video from the crime scene has surfaced, showing the terrace of the building with empty cages, which were once filled with pigeons. The owner can be seen walking around in distress, looking at the open cages, while narrating the shocking incident.
The police have assured that they are making all efforts to catch the culprits and recover the stolen pigeons.
