Lucknow: In poll-bound Uttar Pradesh the list of poll promises is swelling every day. Now, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has promised free 300 units of electricity to every household if voted to power.
On Saturday, while greeting people on the New Year, the SP chief said that farmers would be provided free power for irrigation while 300 units of free electricity will be given to all domestic consumers.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was the first one to make an announcement of this type two months back.
The Congress general secretary and in charge of UP, Priyanka Gandhi has also made a poll promises regarding electricity. She has promised to waive the electricity bills during the Covid time if voted to power. The Congress leader along with AAP too has promised free electricity to farmers for irrigation.
The SP chief said that in the election manifesto, relief measures such as free electricity and many others would be inducted. He has also announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh to those killed in attack of bulls or being run over while riding bicycle.
