In a disturbing incident from Uttar Pradesh's Shamli, a ward boy was caught on CCTV stealing gold earrings from the body of a deceased woman. The incident has sparked outrage after footage of the theft went viral on social media.

According to reports, 26-year-old Shweta, wife of Sachin Kumar from Hiranwada village in the Babri area, died in a road accident on Saturday. Her body was taken to the District Joint Hospital for examination.

When female police officers from Babri police station arrived to examine the body before sending it for post-mortem, they noticed the woman's gold earrings were missing. Family members initially accused the police of stealing the jewellery.

During the investigation, ward boy Vijay handed over one earring to the police, claiming he had found it on the floor. Suspicious of his story, the family and police requested Chief Medical Superintendent Dr Kishore Ahuja to check the CCTV footage.

The footage clearly showed Vijay removing the earrings from the deceased woman's body. When authorities attempted to locate him for questioning, they discovered he had fled the hospital.

Based on a complaint filed by the victim's husband Sachin, the Chief Medical Superintendent has submitted a formal complaint against the accused at the Adarsh Mandi police station. The investigation is ongoing as police continue to search for the accused.
