A brutal assault erupted at Saharanpur's Sarsawa Medical College’s emergency ward on Sunday after relatives of a 16-year-old accident patient attacked doctors and staff, accusing them of negligence. Three doctors were severely injured, while several others, including female physicians and nurses, sustained minor injuries in the violence.

Naved (16), son of Nawab Ali from Bhatpura village, was brought to the emergency ward in critical condition at 10 AM. Doctors Arvind Pathak, Mayank Puruthi, and Harshit began immediate treatment but found the boy’s condition deteriorating as he was bleeding from his nose and ears and later vomited blood.

Upon being informed of Naved’s critical state, the relatives—around 25–30 people—allegedly became aggressive, shouting, “He was fine earlier, what went wrong now?” Despite doctors explaining that the boy had suffered a severe head injury, the family refused to listen, hurling abuses before launching a violent attack.

Emergency Medical Officer Dr Kush Chauhan alleged that the relatives began throwing chairs and assaulting medical staff. When other doctors intervened, they too were attacked. Three doctors—Pathak, Harshit, and Puruthi—suffered serious injuries, while others received first aid. Bloodstains covered the floor as the mob fled with the patient’s body before police arrived.

The incident was captured on CCTV, and a viral mobile video further exposed the brutality. Police later filed an FIR against the attackers based on a complaint by Dr Chauhan. Authorities assured an investigation, but tensions remain high as medical staff demand stricter security measures.
