Lucknow Rises To 3rd Cleanest City In India In Swachh Survekshan 2024, Leaps 41 Spots |

Lucknow has achieved the distinction of being the third cleanest city in India, according to recently released Swachh Survekshan 2024 rankings. The city dramatically improved its position by 41 spots from its previous ranking. The Lucknow Municipal Corporation is slated to receive its award in Delhi on July 17.

Ahmedabad secured the number one position, climbing from fifth place last year, while Bhopal took the second spot. Lucknow's leap from 44th to third place is particularly noteworthy. This significant improvement is attributed to the Municipal Commissioner and his team's efforts over the past year, which included enhanced waste management, regular ward cleaning, public participation, awareness campaigns, and digital monitoring.

President Draupadi Murmu will honor the top-ranked cities at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on July 17, where Lucknow Municipal Corporation has also been invited. This achievement is seen not just as a win for cleanliness but also as a testament to the city's identity and image. The public's active participation in waste segregation and increased awareness against open dumping played a crucial role in this success. Officials and councilors of the Municipal Corporation now aim for Lucknow to become the cleanest city in the country in future surveys.
