Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a Janata Darshan at Gorakhnath Temple on Friday, meeting over 200 citizens who presented a range of grievances involving unresolved land disputes, delays in welfare schemes, and pleas for medical assistance. Seated outside the Mahant Digvijaynath Smriti Bhavan, the public raised issues that reflected deep rooted bureaucratic inertia and ground-level enforcement failures.

In several instances, complainants cited unchecked criminal activity, encroachments by influential individuals, and poor follow-up by police and local officials. The CM instructed officers to act "swiftly and fairly," particularly in cases involving land mafias and harassment of economically weaker residents. “No one harassing the poor will be spared,” he told officials, an assertion that comes amid growing public complaints of selective enforcement and slow redressal systems in rural belts. A recurring feature of the session was citizens seeking government support for medical treatment. The CM directed officials to prepare prompt cost estimates and ensure funds are sanctioned without delay. Delays in Ayushman Bharat card issuance also came to the fore, with instructions issued for speedy processing.

Women with children formed a notable portion of those present. While the Chief Minister briefly interacted with children, the concerns raised by their families mostly centered around access to basic services. Administrative teams were directed to ensure follow up and compliance on all submitted petitions. However, past sessions have shown a limited impact unless sustained monitoring mechanisms are enforced at the district level.

After the darshan, the CM followed his usual routine, offering prayers at the Gorakhnath temple and visiting the cowshed. Despite the symbolic optics and public interactions, the effectiveness of such events in addressing structural deficiencies remains debated, especially when citizens return with similar complaints week after week.

While a group of schoolchildren visited him to convey belated birthday greetings and perform martial arts demonstrations, the spotlight remained on the grievances tabled during the Janata Darshan. Many attendees left with written assurances but it remains to be seen how many of these will translate into lasting outcomes.
