Meerut: In a shocking incident, a man killed his wife by beating her with brick and slitting her throat with a knife in front of his three daughters in Uttar Pradesh's Meerut. The horrific incident was witnessed by his three young daughters, Vanshika (10), Anshika (6), and Priyanshi (3). The victim's brother, Deepak, has filed an FIR. The man killed his wife in a fit of rage after seeing few comments on her Instagram reels and receiving calls from unknown number.
The incident occurred in Lakhwaya village in the Shobhapur outpost area under Kankerkhera Police Station on Tuesday (December 10). According to Vimla, a resident of Lakhwaya village in the Shobhapur outpost area under Kankerkhera police station, her daughter Seema was married to Raju, son of Chahan Singh, 11 years ago. Vimla stated that the accused frequently doubted his wife's character without any reason.
As per reports, Seema had posted 13 reels on Instagram within a span of 24 hours. The reels attracted various comments and likes. The police are investigating her social media accounts. Vanshika, the eldest daughter, revealed that an unknown caller had contacted her mother, which enraged her father. She further told that an argument erupted between them after which the situation escalated and Raju fatally stabbed Seema.
The three girls witnessed the crime while hiding under a blanket inside the house. Vanshika said that her father began shouting at her mother after the unknown call, leading to a heated argument. Amidst the altercation, Raju started beating Seema with a brick and then forced the children to sleep. After committing the murder, he fled with both his and Seema's mobile phones.
The police reached the spot and took the dead body of the victim into their custody. The dead body was covered in a pool of blood on a folding bed in the room and the three daughters were sitting near the dead body of their mother. The police sent the dead body for post-mortem and are awaiting the report for further action. The police have launched a search operation to nab the accused.
