Prayagraj: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath chaired a closed-door review meeting in Prayagraj on Tuesday, bringing together legislators and MLCs from Prayagraj and Vindhyachal divisions. While the official agenda focused on infrastructure and development projects, the meeting drew criticism from opposition members for allegedly sidelining non-BJP representatives.
SP MLA from Meja, Sandeep Patel, claimed he was not invited. “This wasn't a development meeting for the state—it was a BJP development meeting,” he said. Patel accused the ruling party of routinely ignoring opposition lawmakers and questioned the credibility of a review process that lacks inclusive participation. In contrast, rebel SP MLA Pooja Pal, who campaigned for the BJP during the Lok Sabha polls, was seen attending the session. She stated the meeting discussed past progress and upcoming development needs.

The meeting, held at the Circuit House under heavy security, included key administrative officials. Mobile phones were barred from the venue. BJP MLA Siddharth Nath Singh highlighted plans involving `6,700 crore worth of new projects, including PWD works and flood preparedness for the upcoming Mahakumbh.
Analysts note that while the event was framed as a routine review, its selective outreach raised questions about transparency and political inclusivity in governance
