A 72-year-old Muslim man has been arrested for groping a woman in the middle of a busy road in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh. CCTV footage of the sexual assault has surfaced online, showing the accused inappropriately touching the woman as he walks past her.
The victim, stunned by the sudden assault, runs towards the man and slaps him, but he continues walking. He attempts to flee the scene before passersby realise what has happened.
A user named Anurag Gautam shared the video, claiming that the 72-year-old man molested the woman shortly after leaving a mosque.
According to reports, the woman had visited the market for some work.
The incident allegedly occurred on Sunday around 2:40 pm near the city centre under Khalapar Kotwali police jurisdiction. The accused has been identified as Riyaz Ahmed.
The Muzaffarnagar police confirmed the arrest in a social media post.
Another video has emerged showing the accused in police custody, where he appears limping with his hands trembling.
