Arrah (Bihar): A tragic shooting incident at Ara railway station in Bihar on Tuesday evening left three people dead, including a 16-year-old girl, her father and the gunman, who took his own life after committing the crime.
According to reports, the shooting took place on the footbridge connecting platforms 2 and 3. The assailant, identified as 24-year-old Aman Kumar, first opened fire on the teenage girl, Jiya Kumari, and her father, Anil Sinha, before turning the gun on himself. All three died on the spot.

Love Angle Cannot Be Ruled Out: Cops
Local police are still investigating the motive behind the attack, though they have not ruled out the possibility of a personal relationship between the attacker and the victim. Bhojpur district Superintendent of Police Raj stated that forensic experts have been deployed to examine the scene and gather evidence, reported PTI. The police have registered a case and are questioning potential witnesses to establish a clearer picture of the sequence of events.
Additional Superintendent of Police Parichay Kumar confirmed that the shooting occurred on the overbridge between platforms 3 and 4, with eyewitnesses reporting that the suspect targeted the girl and her father before killing himself. Meanwhile, RPF Senior Commandant Prakash Panda revealed that Aman Kumar was a resident of Bhojpur and that the firearm used in the attack has been seized.
Probe Underway Into The Matter
Cops are also reviewing security measures at the station. Although there are approximately 40 CCTV cameras installed, police officials have acknowledged the need for additional cameras on the footbridge where the incident occurred.
Reports suggest that Jiya Kumari had arrived at the station to board a train to Delhi at the time of the attack. Local police are looking into whether the assailant had prior knowledge of her travel plans and if the attack was premeditated.
