Nalgonda (Telangana), July 29: In a shocking incident, a man attempted suicide by burning himself alive inside Nalgonda Police Station in Telangana. The incident was caught on the CCTV camera installed in the police station premises and the video is doing rounds on social media. It can be seen in the video that the man poured petrol on himself and set himself ablaze in front of a police officer inside the police station premises.

Details About The Incident

There are reports that the youth identified as Ravilla Narasimha was caught for drunk driving. He was reportedly driving home under the influence of alcohol. During a routine drunk-and-drive check in Nalgonda town, he was stopped by the police and tested positive for alcohol consumption. The Nalgonda 1 Town Police then registered a case against him.

Drunk Driving Case Registered

Upset over the case, Narasimha went to the police station and questioned the officers, asking, “Will you file a case only against me?” In a fit of rage and despair, he poured petrol on himself and set himself on fire in front of the police station.

CCTV Footage Surfaces

The CCTV footage shows that a police officer is present in front of the man when he burnt himself. He tried to rescue the man, but massive blaze was emanating. He could not douse the fire and ran away from the burning man to save himself.

Brave Cop Saves Life

However, another police officer came to the spot and ran to find something to douse the fire. Within seconds, he returned with a blanket and bravely doused the fire.

Narasimha was rushed to a nearby hospital where he is receiving treatment for his burn injuries. There are reports that his condition is stable. The police have initiated an investigation into the matter. There are no reports of any arrests in connection with the matter.
