A delegation of the Aam Aadmi Party, which first reached the Delhi CM's residence with media to counter BJP's narrative, was stopped outside the PM's residence on Wednesday by police.

AAP leaders Saurabh Bharadwaj and Sanjay Singh entered into a heated exchange with police personnel outside the CM's residence. After being denied entry, they headed for the PM's residence.

Speaking to media outside the PM's residence, AAP MP Sanjay Singh told news agency ANI, "The allegations that the BJP keeps making against us - they should have shown us where the 'golden toilet' is, where the swimming pool is, where the mini bar is... But they didn't allow us to see and stopped us outside the 'Raj Mahal' (PM's residence). Now, we are heading back."

While speaking to media, Delhi Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj said, "We came here to conclude this argument of 'tera ghar, mera ghar'. We said that the PM residence and CM residence should both be shown to the people. So, we came here."

A slugfest between AAP and BJP has broken out, and allegations and counter-allegations have intensified as the polling date for Delhi Assembly election approaches.

BJP has leveled allegations of irregularities in the renovation of Delhi CM's residence. Dubbing the CM bungalow as "Sheesh Mahal," the saffron party has made the issue its key poll plank in the run-up to elections.

Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva has claimed that valuable items, including a "golden commode," were missing after the bungalow was vacated by Kejriwal.

On Tuesday, AAP challenged the BJP to open the Prime Minister's residence for a media visit to reveal the reality while also offering to take reporters on a tour of the Chief Minister's residence.

In his election rally in Delhi's New Ashok Nagar on Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also targeted Kejriwal over the money spent on the renovation of the Delhi CM's house.
