Jaipur : Tainted pacer S Sreesanth, who is out on bail after the spot-fixing ordeal, has now been accused of spreading rumours that he was marrying a Jaipur girl.
Sreesanth has categorically stated without naming the girl that he would marry the girl, a graduate in her 20s after the Onam festival in August-September this year.
The girl in question is Sakshi Jhala, a graduate of hotel and catering management from an institute in Aurangabad. She studied with Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s wife who is also named Sakshi.
“There is no truth in the rumour that my daughter is marrying Sreesanth. In several media interviews Sreesanth has said that he would marry a Jaipur girl. Since then as Sreesanth is a friend of my daughter and they came to know each other because of Sakshi Dhoni I have been getting calls from friends and relations who are keen to know whether my daughter (Sakshi) is marrying Sreesanth. I can only say there is no truth in this rumour and my daughter is keen to pursue a career in the hospitality industry and is not keen on marriage” said Atul Jhala, the father of Sakshi.
Atul Jhala is an officer in the Rajasthan Tourism development Corporation.
A close family friend said that there was no question of Sakshi marrying a non-Rajput. She is a Rajput girl and comes from a very conservative set up where marrying out of caste is not permitted.
Her father also denied having gone to Delhi to see Sreesanth when he was in jail before the court granted him bail.
