Chandigarh: A man lost his life after a speeding Porsche Cayenne car worth around Rs two crore allegedly rammed into two scooters. Two women were also reportedly injured in the crash. The incident took place near the Sector 4 petrol pump on Monday night.
The car was coming from the wrong direction at a high speed, reported NDTV quoting police officials. The deceased has been identified as Ankit from Nayagaon. Ankit reportedly lost his leg and later succumbed to injuries on the spot.
The car reportedly first collided with an Activa scooter and then hit Ankit's Activa, reported News18. The two women sustained serious injuries. As per reports, the Activa split into two pieces after the car collided with it. The injured women are currently undergoing treatment at the PGI Hospital.

After colliding with two scooters, the car crashed into an electric pole and then into a tree. As per the News18 report, the impact was so severe that the first scooter's tyre lodged in the car's engine.
The driver has been arrested by the police. A case has been lodged against the driver under relevant sections, As per the preliminary investigation, the owner of the car is a resident of Chandigarh's Sector 21.
Earlier this month, a speeding BMW crashed into the divider on the Coastal Road in Mumbai's Worli. The incident reportedly took place as the driver of the car was trying to overtake other vehicles. The video of the incident also surfaced online. The Worli Police registered a case against the accused driver, Rishabh Aneja (24,) for reckless driving after the video went viral.
