SC allows NEET on October 14 for students who could not appear in September due to COVID-19

The Supreme Court on Monday allowed NEET exam to be conducted on October 14 for students who could not appear for it due to COVID-19 infection or because of residing in containment zones.

The results will be declared on October 16.

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test or NEET is conducted for admission into graduate medical courses like MBBS. It was conducted on September 13 after delays due to COVID-19 pandemic.

The apex court`s order comes on a request made by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to allow students, who could not give the NEET exam due to testing COVID-19 positive or being in containment zones to appear for the NEET exams.

A bench headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) SA Bobde, while allowing students to appear for the NEET exams on October 14, said that the results will be declared on October 16.

Earlier, reports said NEET 2020 results is likely to get declared on Monday.
