Samajwadi Party chief and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Akhilesh Yadav said that his party will come form alliance with small political parties in the upcoming 2022 state assembly elections.

While taking pot shots at the ruling Bhartiya Janta Party in the state, he said "BJP don't want to hold debate on real matters like unemployment, inflation".

He said that people of UT wants a change now and therefor they will vote for change in the upcoming elections of 2022. "The people of Uttar Pradesh wants a change now. People will vote for change", he told ANI.

While taking jibe at the party's Sankalp Patra, he said, "Since the day, BJP formed govt (in UP) it has forgot its Sankalp Patra. I think BJP has thrown its Sankalp Patra in garbage"

The SP chief also alleged BJP of manipulatiing Zila Panchayat election results. He said, "In recently concluded Panchayat polls, BJP tried to influence results, still they faced defeat. Now just to gain dominance, they've given free hand to DM, SP to make elections (results) in their favour. With money & admin power, BJP is manipulating elections.

The game is on between the BJP and Samajwadi Party (SP) for the district panchayat president election in Uttar Pradesh. Of 75 districts, 22 district panchayat presidents have been declared elected unopposed and the BJP has managed to capture 21 districts. This has come as a big challenge for the SP, which emerged strong during the panchayat member election.

According to the State Election Commission, Zila Panchayat Chiefs have been elected unopposed from Saharanpur, Bahraich, Itawa, Chitrakoot, Agra, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Bulandshahar, Amroha, Moradabad, Lalitpur Jhansi, Banda, Shravasti, Balrampur, Gonda, Gorakhpur, Mau, Varanasi, Pilibhit and Shahjahanpur.
