The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) will hold an important 3-day meeting of its senior functionaries and 'Prant Pracharks' of all 45 Prants (provinces) of its organisation in Jhunjhunu Rajashtan from Thursday.
The meeting assumes critical importance as it is taking place amidst the emotionally and politically charged atmosphere of Rajasthan after the brutal killing of tailor Kanhiya Lal in Udaipur.
RSS leaders have said that this is a routine meeting conducted every year and was scheduled much before the recent incident.
RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat arrived in Rajasthan on Saturday, days ahead of the meeting with other senior functionaries, including general secretary Dattatrey Hosbole to take part in the organizational meeting of the saffron body.
From the BJP, National General Secretary BL Santhosh and Shivprakash will participate in this crucial meeting that will commence on July 7.
The meeting is considered important after the recent brutal killing of Kanhiya Lal, who allegedly supported Nupur Sharma’s comments on Prophet Mohammad. The atmosphere is charged in not only in Rajasthan but across the country.
The right-wing outfits are protesting against the killing and demanding the death sentence for the accused.
The issue is being politicized after the alleged connection of one of the main accused, Riyaz Attari, with the BJP minority cell of Udaipur has come to the fore.
Congress has raised the point after his pictures with senior BJP leader of Rajasthan Gulab Chand Kataria had gone viral. State Congress president Govind Singh Dotasraa has sent a letter to the chief of the National Investigative Agency to initiate a probe into this alleged connection.
Sources say that all these issues may also be discussed in the meeting, although the official agenda of the is to review the activities of all the provinces and Sangh Shiksha Varg (training camps) that were held recently after a gap of two years due to the Covid pandemic.
Besides this, the planning for the next year, visits of functionaries and other issues will also be discussed.
There will also be discussions on the centenary celebrations of the RSS. The year 2025 will mark 100 years of this right-wing organisation.
