Rajasthan: Two JEE Aspirants Die By Suicide In Kota Within 2 Days, Four Cases In January

The police have conducted post-mortem and handed over the body to the relatives. The student's mobile has been confiscated, which is being investigated.

Two JEE Aspirants Die by Suicide in Kota, Sparking Concerns Over Student Wellbeing | Representational Image

Two JEE aspirants have allegedly committed suicide in Kota in the last two days. The first one was Abhijit Giri from Odisha, who hanged self on the night of January 16. The Vigyan Nagar police station SI Anjali said- Abhijit Giri (18), who was preparing for JEE, was a resident of Odisha. His family members reached Kota on Friday night. The police have conducted post-mortem and handed over the body to the relatives. The student's mobile has been confiscated, which is being investigated. 

The other one is Manan Jain (17) who was from Bundi Rajasthan and was living at his maternal grandparent's house in Kota for JEE preparations. The police said that Manan hanged self on Friday night. 

Notably, until now, four students have committed suicide in Kota in January itself.
