Jaipur: The internal politics in Rajasthan Congress is heating up after the statement of former deputy CM Sachin Pilot, who wants action on promises made by the party to him. There are reports of expansion and reshuffle in the Ashok Gehlot cabinet by the end of June or early next month.

Many things can be seen happening in Rajasthan Congress these days. The dissident faction of the party has once again become vocal on issues that were being raised before the second wave of Covid.

The demand for political appointments is getting momentum and sources in the party say that cabinet expansion and some key political appointments are likely very soon to pacify dissidence. In the meantime, Sachin met with some of his loyal MLAs at his residence in Jaipur today. Talking to the media, one of these MLAs Mukesh Bhakar said, "We’ll continue our fight and remain with the party as we did before."

Some new equations are also emerging as two of the loyalist MLAs of Sachin Pilot were seen praising CM Ashok Gehlot, although later on when asked about it they said that they are with Sachin Pilot.

Sachin himself after raising the issue of action on his demands had attended a meeting of state Congress held on Wednesday with CM Ashok Gehlot and other leaders on agitation program of the party against inflation.

Party sources say that he has given a message that he might be annoyed on some issues but is very much with the party. He also had given a strong reply to deputy leader of opposition Rajedra Rathor’s tweet who tried to fuel the infighting of State Congress. Sachin tweeted that state BJP leaders should focus on their situation as infighting in their party is such that BJP is not able to play the role of opposition in the state.
