'Pushpak Rath for self-proclaimed PM?': Suvendu Adhikari takes dig at Mamata Banerjee over decision to acquire plane |

Kolkata: The West Bengal government has invited bids from experienced and competent non-scheduled aircraft operators, having a minimum experience of five years in operation of aircraft services for induction and operation of a fixed wing twin engine aircraft with a minimum seating capacity of 8-10 passengers.

Highlighting the West Bengal Transport Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (WBTIDCL) e-tender for hiring a fixed-wing aircraft, Leader of Opposition called slammed Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and said, "Head of state, marred by fake vaccination conducted by a fake official, now wants to have a delusional flight."

Comparing it with Pushpak Rath, which was owned by 'Raavan' from the mythological epic 'Ramayana', Suvendu took to Twitter and slammed the TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee for dreaming to be the next Prime Minister of the country and said that she is hiring the airplane so that she can visit other states to campaign for next parliamentary election.

“Pushpak Rath for (self proclaimed) PM??? Dissatisfied with helicopter's range, process of acquiring a 10 seater Airplane has been initiated. Convenient for whimsical criss-crossing of the entire country for upcoming Loksava poll campaigning? On Govt expenses?,” read the tweet of the Leader of Opposition.

Notably, just after the party’s landslide win for the straight third term in Bengal, its new all India general secretary, Abhishek Banerjee had mentioned that the party will decide in the coming weeks how it plans to expand in other states.

“We will decide what to do and in which states we want to start our units in. We will not go to other states just to win a few seats but we will contest to win over the entire state,” Abhishek was heard saying.

It is pertinent to mention that next year, five of the states in India will go to polls, prominent among them being Uttar Pradesh. The list also includes Manipur and the TMC is supposed to be already in talks with some of the representatives from there.

Meanwhile, BJP Bengal chief Dilip Ghosh taking a potshot at the incident said without naming anyone said that this is the dream of the young leader in TMC.
