Punjab is the most peaceful state: CM Badal

Lambi (Punjab): Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today outrightly refuted allegations leveled by the opposition regarding the law and order problem in the state.

He said that the top most priority of the Akaali Dal-BJP alliance government was to maintain peace in the state, adding that ever since the alliance government had taken over the reins, Punjab has witnessed an era of peace, communal harmony and brotherhood. “The biggest achievement of my government is that despite of being a border state, Punjab is today considered as the most peaceful state in the country” added Badal.

Revealing state’s support to the sports, he said that the state government would honor all the players, who had brought laurels for the state by bagging medals in the ongoing Commonwealth games.

Interacting with media on the sidelines of second day of Sangat Darshan in Lambi assembly segment, the chief minister today said that the state government has already formulated a policy for honoring the players who bring medals in Olympics, Commonwealth and Asian Games.

He said that in pursuance of this policy the state government would honor all these players who had proved their mettle by bagging medals in the commonwealth games.

Earlier, addressing the public in Gurusar Jodhan, Dabwali Dhab, Burj Sidwan, Sham Kheda, Dhani Barki, Dhani Punan Singh, Kolianwali, Chaapianwali and Saraawan Bodlaan, the chief minister that the only aim of his life was to resolve the problems of people coming at their doorsteps and raise the standard of their life by providing them with the ultra modern civic amenities.

He said that well being of the state and prosperity of its people has been an integral part of his governance from the very first day due to which the state government has initiated a number of pro-people welfare schemes. Badal said that due emphasis has been laid for constructing the ‘pucca’ houses for all the residents of state.

Likewise, the chief minister said that the state government has announced special schemes for providing portable drinking water and toilets in all the villages across the state. He further said that very soon all the villages of the state would get the facility of clean drinking water. Similarly, Badal also said that special scheme has also been launched to clean the ponds in every village of the state.

The Chief Minister further said that the Sangat Darshan program has proved to be a boon for understanding the problem of every village in an apt manner, for its early resolution. Badal said that rather than sitting in office he has always preferred to go amongst the people to listen to their grievances and solve them on the spot. “I am a firm believer of the fact that people should not face any sort of harassment in getting their day-to-day administrative work done due to which the Sangat Darshans are held across the state” he added.

The Chief Minister was accompanied by Chairman Punjab Agro Jathedar Dyal Singh Kolianwali, Member Punjab Women Commission Mrs. Veerpal Kaur Tarmala, his Special Principal Secretaries Mr. KJS Cheema and Dr. SK Karunaraju and Deputy Commissioner Mr. Jaskiran Singh.
