Chandigarh: Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann, 48, plans to get married to 29-years-old Dr Gurpreet Kaur, a resident of Peohwa town of Haryana, in a private ceremony on Thursday.
Kaur did her MBBS from Maharishi Markandeshwar University at Mullana (district Ambala) in Haryana in 2018.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)’s Punjab unit chief spokesperson Malvinder Kang said that the marriage would be a private and simple ceremony which is likely to be attended by the AAP national convener and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and his family.
This would be Mann’s second marriage after he separated from his first wife, Inderpreet Kaur, in 2015 who lives abroad. He has two children, daughter Seerat Kaur Mann (21) and son Dilshan Mann (17), from his first wife. His children had come from the US to attend Mann’s swearing-in ceremony at Khatkar Kalan in March this year.
Meanwhile, Mann's Cabinet colleagues Aman Arora and Harjot Singh Bains have congratulated him on Twitter on the occasion.
