Chandigarh: Pradeep Kasni, Secretary of the Haryana Administrative Reforms Department, today sought an apology from the state Chief Secretary, for allegedly sending him threat messages on grounds of objecting to the issuance of appointment letters to the SICs and RTSCs .

: “The only objection was that the people to be appointed  should first have their orders of appointment from the appointing authority. They must give an undertaking that they do not have any criminal case pending against them and secondly not holding any office of profit. Simple issue, already written down in the government procedure, nothing more than that. I only followed Chief Secretary’s orders. I just tried to show you the messages which I have received.”Kasni said

“I did not raise any issue. I only wanted to make the appointments as per the procedures laid down by the law. Matter was staffing the two commissions, even if there was no requirement, by persons of their own choice,” he added.

“I don’t know under what political pressure he had to resort to such a thing. I would not like to initiate any complaint with the police or go to the court. The only thing that I would expect is an apology from him,” Kasni further added.

Media reports say that despite the fact that Kasni did not give appointment letters to the new commissioners, Chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Sunday hurriedly administrated the oath of office to two information commissioners and three commissioners of the Right to Service Commission.
