Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level security meeting on Tuesday at his New Delhi residence, attended by Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan, and the chiefs of all armed forces.

According to reports, during the meeting, Prime Minister Modi affirmed that “it is our national resolve to deliver a crushing blow to terrorism”.

The PM expressed full faith and confidence in the professional capabilities of the Indian Armed Forces, stating that they have complete operational freedom to determine the mode, targets, and timing of India’s response.

The agenda focused on evaluating intelligence reports and assessing military and strategic options for targeting terrorist networks operating from across the border. Intelligence agencies are particularly monitoring groups such as Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), which is believed to have orchestrated the recent Pahalgam attack.

In response to the Pahalgam ambush, the armed forces have heightened alert levels, with units along the Line of Control (LoC) and international border placed on maximum combat readiness.

Advanced surveillance systems—including unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), satellite monitoring, and signals intelligence—are being intensively deployed to track terrorist staging grounds in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
